Breakdance course
Learn to break from the ground up — from foundational footwork and toprock to power moves, freezes, and full battle sets. This course covers technique, musicality, culture, and personal style so you develop as a complete breaker. Whether you are stepping into your first cipher or levelling up for competition, this is where it starts.
What you will learn:
You will start with breaking history, body preparation, and rhythm fundamentals before moving into toprock, footwork patterns, and floor transitions. From there, you will build the strength and technique needed for freezes and power moves including windmills, backspins, and headspins. You will also learn how to construct and perform full breaking sets timed to music. Advanced topics cover flares, airflares, battle strategy, and developing your own signature style. Supplementary material includes conditioning, nutrition, community networking, and performance for stage and camera.

Introduces dynamic warm-up routines and mobility drills essential for breakdance training. Prevents injury and builds the body awareness needed for all subsequent techniques.
Lesson 4 • Understanding Rhythm and Musicality
Develops the ability to hear and interpret beats, breaks, and musical phrases. Connects sound awareness directly to movement timing used in all breaking styles.
Chapter 2HideHide detailsSee detailsToprock and Uprock Styles
Toprock and Uprock Styles
Lesson 1 • Basic Toprock Steps
Introduces the Indian step, salsa step, and cross-step as core toprock vocabulary. These steps establish presence and rhythm before dropping to the floor.
Lesson 2 • Toprock Styling and Variations
Expands toprock vocabulary with kicks, skips, and directional changes. Encourages individual expression while maintaining rhythmic precision.
Lesson 3 • Dropping into Footwork
Teaches smooth transitions from toprock directly into floor-based footwork. Seamless drops are essential for cohesive set structure and battle readiness.
Lesson 4 • Uprock Fundamentals
Covers the confrontational uprock style rooted in Brooklyn battle culture. Students learn burns, jerks, and sweeps as expressive competitive tools.
Chapter 3HideHide detailsSee detailsCore Footwork Techniques
Core Footwork Techniques
Lesson 1 • Footwork Combinations and Flow
Chains multiple footwork patterns into seamless sequences timed to music. Students develop personal flow and the ability to improvise within a structure.
Lesson 2 • CC and Continuous Circle Work
Introduces the CC footwork pattern emphasizing fluid circular motion. Develops stamina and spatial awareness critical for longer floor sequences.
Lesson 3 • The Six-Step Foundation
Breaks down the six-step into individual counts and weight shifts. This pattern is the most fundamental footwork sequence and anchors all future combinations.
Lesson 4 • Three-Step and Variations
Teaches the compact three-step pattern and its directional variations. Builds efficiency and sets up transitions into freezes and power moves.
Chapter 4HideHide detailsSee detailsFreezes and Positional Holds
Freezes and Positional Holds
Lesson 1 • Freeze Transitions and Combos
Links multiple freezes into flowing sequences timed to musical accents. Students learn to use freezes as punctuation marks within a full breaking set.
Lesson 2 • Baby Freeze and Chair Freeze
Introduces the two most foundational freezes using elbow-to-hip and elbow-to-stomach support points. Mastery here unlocks all advanced freeze variations.
Lesson 3 • Headstand and Shoulder Freeze
Develops inverted balance using the head and shoulders as support bases. These freezes expand vertical range and set up transitions to power moves.
Lesson 4 • Strength Conditioning for Freezes
Targets the wrists, shoulders, and core muscles needed to support body weight in freeze positions. Conditioning here directly reduces injury risk in all freeze work.
Chapter 5HideHide detailsSee detailsIntroduction to Power Moves
